The developers behind the $400m The Cove on Queensland’s southern Sunshine Coast have waited until the last minute to launch the Comino waterfront apartments, which are expected to attract downsizer buyers from around the area.
The luxury residential project of two, three and four-bedroom apartments are being fast-tracked to meet expected demand for high-end waterfront stock at Pelican Waters, according to Henzells Property group sales director Marcus Muir.
Mr Muir said he believed premium property was “riding the crest of a wave” on the Sunshine Coast, adding that the Comino apartments offered north or east water views. “It is tailored for buyers wanting house-size apartments and a connection to the water,’’ Mr Muir said. “We are already fielding strong levels of inquiry, a large proportion being from retirees who love the area and are looking to downsize from larger homes in Pelican Waters,’’ he added.
Comino will offer six levels of owner-occupier styled plans and sizes, ranging in price from $1.4m to $4.9m and in size from 197sq m up to 511sq m for the grand penthouse. The bulk of the development centres on 33 three-bedders, but there are also six two-bedroom apartments and a grand penthouse.
The apartments have either two or four carparks apiece. “Designed to maximise the best of their chic coastal setting on the water’s edge, the apartments offer incredible views of the marina and canal, with the upper levels also taking in beautiful outlooks to the Pumicestone Passage marine reserve and Bells Creek,’’ Mr Muir said.
Apartments feature generous ceilings from 2.7m to 3m high and are equipped with high-end fixtures and fittings such as Bosch appliances, Vintec wine fridges and Zip taps. “The units are pet friendly, with ground-floor residences featuring direct access to the water via the private courtyards,” Mr Muir said.
Some apartments had access to the exclusive River Room lounge on the ground level with private liquor cabinets, pool table and deck overlooking the water, he added. Residents will all enjoy private beach rooms and access to a north facing resort-style pool. Construction starts on Comino next February with an expected build time of 18 months. The Cove masterplanned development will be delivered over the next five years.
When completed, the luxury residential enclave will consist of about 200 apartments, private swimming pools, recreation spaces, waterfront restaurants and cafes on the doorstep of the first dedicated marina precinct delivered in South East Queensland in years.
